Poem as composed by Sue & Judy for the occasion of Ruth’s 70th birthdayAs we reflect on your life as Dad’s wifePete
with his beers & now you with 70 years There
are many memories we hold dear And
that is why we are here Happy
Birthday Mum I
look at what I’ve become - thanks to you Mum! Bits
of me that are mad - you guessed it – that’s you Dad! And
the rest of my life we will just call “other” I
dedicate to you brother, brother & brother! Happy
Birthday Mum Growing
up – never an easy task Everything
we wanted seemed well out of grasp But
Mum, it was often you we came to ask And
you gave us happy memories that last & last & last Happy
Birthday Mum As
we got older & entered different lives Us
girls with husbands & the boys with their wives The
example you both set us we all did strive Happy
Birthday Mum Now
here at Kaitoke where the gardens are sweet In
love & abundance our family all meet And
the memories hereof we will all dearly keep We
love you dearly Happy
Birthday Mum 12/10
